Why We Updated Our Prices — and What That Means for You




At The Hair Room Jersey City, our commitment to excellence goes beyond great hair. It’s about delivering high-quality service in an environment where you feel cared for, seen, and valued. As part of that commitment, we’ve completed our annual pricing review and have made a few updates that we’d like to share with you.

Just like any business that prioritizes growth and sustainability, we periodically assess our pricing to reflect:

  • Ongoing education and training to stay at the forefront of trends

  • Fair compensation for our talented team

  • The time, skill, and customization involved in every service

These updates ensure that we can continue to offer an exceptional salon experience—from the moment you walk in to the final reveal in the mirror.

We believe in transparency and open communication. Your stylist will always walk you through pricing and options during your consultation so there are no surprises at checkout. We encourage you to ask questions—we’re here to make sure you feel confident and comfortable.


✂️ What’s New in Services

We’ve simplified our color menu to make booking easier and give you more flexibility to stay within your beauty budget. While many salons are moving toward hourly pricing models—which can sometimes lead to inflated costs due to bundled services you may not need—we’ve chosen to stick with an à la carte approach. This gives you the power to customize your appointment with only the services you actually want.


To help with that, we’ve brought back complimentary consultations (no fee!). These ensure that you and your stylist are on the same page about expectations, results, and pricing before any color service begins.


Here’s what’s changed:

  • Blonding Services are now listed as Partial, Half, or Full, regardless of the technique used (balayage, foils, teasylights, etc.).

  • Color Melt, Lowlights, and Creative Color are now combined under one category—if you’re adding extra color, time, or technique, it’s included here.


We’ve also improved our booking system to be more efficient and reduce wait times as much as possible. That said, hair is unpredictable—and if a consultation is skipped before your scheduled appointment, your service may need to be adjusted to fit the available timing. We always recommend booking a consultation first if you’re unsure of what you need.
